My Parents Closet
What is that you ask? We describe ourselves as “garage sale meets chic boutique”. We are purveyors of upcycled treasures inherited from generations past and present.
Be sure to get there early on sale days for the "no haggle" garage sale. Items are competitively priced and ready for a new home.
New, used, one-of-a kind items and rare finds available. Items added to the floor hourly so plan to stop by early and often.
POP-UP sales happen sometimes, so make sure to keep checking our site for details.
Our Story
We are three bored baby boomers who along with two retired veterans and a husband decided to manage our homes and garages by clearing out everyday items we no longer wanted or needed.
Like most of you, we accumulated too much stuff whether via our own purchases, gifts, or inheritance from generations of family members. Homes and garages became cluttered and there was little space to move around. When talking with our children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews we were informed they don’t want our hand-me-downs. So, what is a person to do? Every one of you can relate at some level, right?
Boredom can get you into a lot of trouble folks. In our case, a loosely framed idea was formed. We started brainstorming and came up with a process by which we could upcycle our treasures to others. The infamous “one person’s junk is another person’s treasures” or vice versa. Thus, My Parents Closet was created.
Having something to fill up time while having fun and, at the same time, creating a social mission was important to us all. Ultimately our mission is to promote social equity in shopping.
We believe in social justice and that all people in society should have equal access to public goods and social services, freedom of expression, and autonomy regardless of socioeconomic status.
By upcycling treasures, we can honor that mission and enable folks to have quality items at an affordable price.
